Welcome to Infinergy’s Ardtaraig Windfarm

Scotland leads the way in harnessing renewable energy sources. However, the set target of 100% of electricity from renewables by 2020 cannot be met without further development. Ways to ensure the landscape, itself a vital part of our economy, can accommodate this include carefully chosen sites and sensitively designed developments.

As part of this goal, Infinergy is investigating a potential wind farm site in Argyll & Bute.  The site, part of the Ardtaraig Estate, is located around 15km west of Dunoon.

In addition to it's renewable energy generation target, the Scottish Government now also has a target for shared ownership of renewable energy projects.  Infinergy has started investigating opportunities for community investment and co-ownership of this proposed wind farm.

We’ve now submitted the Ardtaraig Wind Farm application to Argyll and Bute Council.  All of the documents, including the professionally prepared landscape visualisations are available to view or download in the downloads section of this website. The reference number for the application is 18/01516/PP.  You can make a comment via the council's website www.argyll-bute.gov.uk or you can write to them.  If you would like to support the project, you can find a draft template letter here. You have until Saturday 8th September to respond (although the council may accept late representations). You can email your submission to the council at  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.   The postal address to write to is:
